MEET THE TEAM

Tim grew up in Western Sydney with two brothers, where sport was always a constant - rugby league, touch football, anything competitive. That drive took him all the way to representing New South Wales and debuting for Australia in touch football in 2014.

Around that same time, he discovered CrossFit and hasn't looked back. Over the last 15 years, Tim has competed at the highest levels of functional fitness, including five appearances at Torian Pro as both an individual and team athlete, culminating in a team victory in 2025.

Bringing 98 to Penrith is personal. Western Sydney has a fierce sporting culture and a community that deserves world-class facilities and coaching to match. With 10 years owning and running a gym, Tim also brings a deep belief in what fitness does for people beyond the physical; the resilience, confidence, and community that training builds.

Outside the gym, Tim is a proud girl dad, a diehard Parramatta Eels fan, and is currently training for his first 100km ultra marathon.

Nathan is a Penrith local, and bringing 98 to his own backyard is anything but coincidental.

Growing up, rugby league was everything. After looking for something new competitively, Nathan walked into a small factory gym, saw people climbing ropes, and found CrossFit. He was hooked immediately. Over the next 12 years, he competed at Regionals level as both an individual and team athlete before shifting focus to endurance - completing a 102km ultra marathon, with more on the way.

What has kept Nathan in the industry for over a decade has been watching people transform their confidence and self-belief. He's built lifelong relationships through coaching, and that sense of community is exactly what he's bringing to 98 Penrith.

Father of two, passionate home cook, and a self-confessed serial retiree from competition.

Proudly raised in Western Sydney, Julz is passionate about building strong communities and creating environments where people feel supported, challenged, and connected. With a lifelong background in sport, including rugby league and a range of team sports, he developed an appreciation for teamwork, discipline, and the relationships that come from shared goals.

His love of coaching stems from a real passion for people. Julz believes training should be about more than physical results - it should build confidence, resilience, and the belief that you’re capable of more than you imagined. He is committed to creating a welcoming space where members can step away from daily stress, prioritise their health, and grow both inside and outside the gym.

Inspired by personal experiences that reinforced the importance of health, Julz finds the greatest reward in helping people become happier, healthier, and more confident versions of themselves while fostering a community that supports them every step of the way.

Julian King

Manager/Coach

Growing up in Thirlmere, rugby league was Josh's life until he was eighteen, playing at several representative levels throughout his junior career. Some incredible coaches and trainers along the way showed him the value of hard work, and how strength and conditioning could improve not just sporting performance but confidence, discipline, and everyday life. That experience sparked a passion for coaching and led him to study Exercise Science.

These days his focus has shifted from footy to competing across disciplines like HYROX, Turf Games, and half marathons, applying what he learns as both an athlete and a coach.

He holds a Bachelor of Exercise Science and is currently completing a Master's of High Performance Sport, alongside his ASCA Level 1 Strength & Conditioning accreditation. He's currently Head Strength & Conditioning Coach for the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs NSW Women's Premiership team, and previously worked within the Penrith Panthers Women's Pathways program. Alongside team sport, he coaches general population clients too, helping people of all abilities get stronger, fitter, and more confident.

He specialises in athletic development and movement quality, whether that's performing better in sport or simply moving and feeling better in everyday life. His favourite part of the job is watching people achieve goals they once thought were out of reach, and seeing their confidence grow along the way.

Josh Quinn

Coach

Raised in Western Sydney, Reece knows firsthand what it takes to turn a life around, having lost weight on his own terms before rebuilding himself again years later, this time for good. Rugby league shaped his junior years playing for Wenty Magpies, Asquith Magpies, and Blacktown Workers, before his competitive drive found new outlets in bodybuilding, HYROX, and marathon running. Next on the horizon is a pro card in bodybuilding and an Ironman.

That same drive defines how Reece coaches.
He believes real change is built through consistency and the long game, not quick fixes, and he's passionate about creating a space where people feel supported enough to commit to it. Having been in his clients' shoes, he coaches with a rare kind of empathy, helping others believe they're capable of more than they imagined.
